TWO GREAT MODELS
KW I and KW II
Designed and engineered specifically for Kirk Whalum a number of years ago.
These two mouthpiece models are considered the most innovative mouthpieces of our time.
and still remain the number one choice of recording artist in the world today.
The overall dynamics, resonance, and response created by using pure copper material for the body of the mouthpiece make this the ideal choice of professional as well as semi-professional musicians. They are regarded as the "holly grail" of mouthpieces for many contemporary recording artist.
The pure copper structure of the KW model mouthpiece virtually eliminates those nasty "nasal" overtones typically found in other mouthpieces such as those made of brass, stainless steel, white metal, synthetic resins, plastic and ceramics structures -- especially in the upper register.
1. It's the most comfortable metal mouthpiece to play (you'll notice this right away, it's wider and more ergonomic)
2. Whereas metal pieces are harsh in the upper register, the Sugal has a mellow and transparent tone.
<--- (this is due to our innovative "roll-over " baffle -often imitative but never duplicated)
3. The low register is smooth and round.
4. Each mouthpiece is carefully hand-lathed by a former jeweler, thus the detail and aesthetic nuance make each one a work of art.
5. The tone is even from the top to the bottom. Kirk Whalum
