2011 Grammy Winner! Kirk Whalum - It's What I Do -
Kirk's Great Sound
Many years ago I had a saxophone teacher who said you "don't have to have great technical skills for people to listen to you. You just have to have a beautiful sound.
Here Kirk Whalum clearly demonstrates that he not only has great technical skills but also a "beautful" sound.
His saxophone sounds the way a tenor sax should sound, crystal clear tonality, no harsh nasal overtones with a full rich centered body.
My friend Mark Rivera performed live with Billy Joel to help raise money that will be donated to the victims of Sandy throught the Red Cross.
Mark for a number of years has been playing on one of our KW models. Any musician who orders a KW I or II from us will be helping the victims of the hurricane as we will donate $100 from the sale to the Red Cross.
More of Kirk's Great Sound
Here is Kirk playing a beautiful rendition of "Falling in Love with Jesus". His great sound and emotions are obvious attributes of this gifted musician.
This Gifted South Korean Saxophonist
is only 13 years old.
Players order our custom made mouthpieces from around the globe. About two years ago this 13 year old ordered via email a KW model. Not knowing Daehan or how old he was you can imagine my surprise to see him on you tube.
Daehan is only 13 years old and lives in South Korean
He is playing on a Gary Sugal KW Copper Tenor Saophone Mouthpiece.
Daehan obviously loves Greald Albright and uses our top of the line signature Gary Sugal KW model.
I sincerly hope he continues to work as hard as he has and hopefully see get to see him performing live in the United States.
Sugal Mouthpieces is the first in the world to create a 3d KW I and KW II PRINTED TENOR mouthpiece. Here James Calandrella play test the piece for us.

Here's a great Band called "The Peet Project".
and the "Pete Project" Here Pete Herold is using a Gary Sugal "Kirk Whalum" copper body 18Kt Gold plated mouthpiece, along with a conventional ligature.
The delay effect I'm is: G-LAB SD-1 Smooth Delay.
Here's Bill Hess Playing on a "Super Gonz" The Sugal Original Super Gonz has a lush rich traditional sound. The SG was one of our most popular "traditional" mouthpieces that we made in 1989-1996. It is still available as a custom made piece.
A Word About Our Grenadilla Wood
Our Rare Grenadilla wood tenor mouthpiece has the same design as the gold plated brass/copper model and is a "hybrid" of the Jerry Bergonzi "Super Gonz I".
105*W: The SG models are machined on our in house CNC (Computer Numerical Control) high tech cutting lathe from a solid piece of "aged" Grenadilla wood this model is perfect for players who wish to "get away" from a hard core rubber, resin and metallic sound.
Our "aged" wood has a "DRY SWEET" sound and offers the "Traditional" player a rich powerful dark "DRY" centered sound. Reminiscent of a Trane-Dexter, Getz, Lovano sound this model has a medium chamber with a full dynamic round sound and is customized to a players exact specifications.
Designed by Gary Sugal the "The Super Gonz I Wood " will acoustically capture that "warm" traditional sound.
This model has been played on dozens of club dates as well as a number of CD's by Mark Colby (Heart of the City), Elias Haslanger (Standards) It has also been played and endorsed by many other great educators from around the globe
There's no better endorsement than a voice from the past.
